Ambitious Initiative AusKick Clinic 2017
Raising Mental Health Awareness
A beautiful sunny morning greeted some 160 young AusKickers, from along the North West Coast of Tasmania, participating at the Ulverstone Football Ground, some for their first AusKick Clinic. They were excited to discover who the Hawthorn Football Club would be sending along to conduct the clinic. This event, in its 4th year is a partnership in conjunction with beyondblue, Ulverstone Football Club, Rotary Club of Ulverstone West and Australian Rotary Health.
Their expectations were met with the arrival of high profile and champion players, Ben McEvoy, Shaun Burgoyne, Will Langford and Kade Stewart, with their support staff manager Kristian Hall.
The clinic got under way right on time at 10 o’clock with each Hawks player’s taking a group of young budding champions, putting them through a special training drills for the next 1 hour and 20 minutes. The players and kids then moved to the Ulverstone Football Clubs function room, where the players signed autographs, had photos opportunities with the kids and the parents. Each AusKick kid received a beyondblue bag with mental health information, beyondblue biros and Hawthorn Football Club team photos, players profile.
The clinic concluded at 12 o’clock.
This is the fourth year of the AusKick clinic has been conducted by the community partners in Ulverstone. We do enjoy supporting our young kids from along the North West Coast and receive many accolades from our communities.
