Conditions of Entry

  1. ENTRIES: Entries will not be accepted without a completed entry form. Each exhibitor may enter up to two works. Entries close on 28th October.

  2. REGISTRATION: (a) Online - click “Open Entry Form” at the bottom of this page and click “Submit” at the end (b) Printed – click “Printable version: Entry Form” at the bottom of this page and post the completed printed registration to ArtEx, PO Box 100, Don, 7310.

  3. ENTRY FEES: The entry fee is $15 per entry. There are two methods of payment. 1.  Bank Deposit to account name Cradle Coast Rotary Art Exhibition, BSB 067-406; Account Number 10137200. Include your name as the reference. 2. Pay cash or card when you deliver your painting to the exhibition on Monday 7 November.

  4. FRAMING: All work must be suitably framed, including Fabric work, and wired for hanging with Artist’s name and artwork title printed on back upper right-hand side – see diagram at the bottom of the page. Clip frames are not acceptable.

  5. The MAXIMUM SIZE including frame is 1.22 metres (4 feet) on any side.

  6. Works that have won an award or Highly Commended in another exhibition are not eligible to be entered. Each work may be entered into one professionally judged category. Unless otherwise specified by the artist, all paintings are eligible for the Central Coast Council Acquisition Award.

  7. EMERGING ARTIST AWARD: This category is open to all artists who have NEVER won an AWARD or COMMENDATION in any art exhibition or competition. Please indicate on the registration form.

  8. All work must be original, unaided work of the artist, having been completed within the last year.

  9. The organisers reserve the right not to exhibit a painting, but space permitting, all entries will be hung.

  10. All works must be for sale and may be reproduced by media or organisers for promotional purposes such as ArtEx/Rotary website.

  11. COMMISSION will be charged at 25% on all painting purchased by sponsors or the general public (except the Central Coast Award – where no commission applies). Artists are encouraged to allow for this when pricing work.

  12. Irrespective of artist’s pricing, the winner of the Central Coast Council Acquisition Award will receive only $2500.

  13. Categories assigned to a single medium may contain up to 20% additional medium(s). Works with more than 20% will be assigned to the Mixed Medium Category.

  14. The judges and their decisions are independent of the North West Art Circle, the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West Inc., Central Coast Council, and sponsors.

  15. At the judge’s discretion a painting may be awarded a prize in another category. Their decisions will be final with no correspondence entered into.

  16. DELIVERY will be MONDAY NOVEMBER 7,  3pm – 5.30pm. Early delivery is not possible. Please note it is Monday this year, rather than Tuesday, to give time for programme to be printed.

  17. FREIGHTED WORKS: Works may be freighted to and from the exhibition. Return freight must be pre-paid, or included on the entry fee. Works can be freighted for delivery to Central Coast Council Chambers, 19 King Edward Street, Ulverstone, 7315. Works are to arrive by FRIDAY November 4 between 8.30am and 5pm. Only work delivered by a freight forwarder will be accepted. Please advise Sandy Michell 0407 825 430 if you are sending by freight.

  18. COLLECTION - Pick up of art work(s) will be SUNDAY NOVEMBER 20, 3.30 pm – 5.30pm. Please do not ask to have work removed before this time.

  19. There are no facilities for storage either before or after the exhibition. Uncollected work will become the property of the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West.

  20. The organisers will take every care but cannot be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of any artwork. Artists are encouraged to consider insuring artworks.

  21. The ArtEx Exhibition’s Opening Night is Friday NOVEMBER 11,  6.30 for 7pm.
    It is open to the public Saturday NOVEMBER 12 – Sun NOVEMBER 20, 10 – 4pm daily.
    The final Sunday NOVEMBER 20, closure time will be at 3.30pm.
